Free bike fit checklist for at-home setup

Use this checklist before an AI bike fit or a manual bike setup session. It helps you capture the right photo, measure the core contact points, and avoid changing too many variables at once.

Photo setup

  • Put the bike on a trainer or stable level surface.
  • Place the camera 2-3 meters from the bike, level with the saddle.
  • Use a clear side view with the full rider and bike visible.
  • Wear fitted cycling clothing so joints are easier to detect.
  • Take one photo on the hoods and one in your most common riding position.

Saddle height

  • Measure saddle height from bottom bracket center to saddle top.
  • Check knee angle at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
  • Look for hip rocking, toe pointing, or locked knees.
  • Adjust in small 2-3 mm steps, then re-check.

Cockpit and contact points

  • Check whether your hands sit naturally under your shoulders on the hoods.
  • Measure current reach and compare it with your shoulder and torso setup.
  • Confirm handlebar width against shoulder width.
  • Review crank length if hip angle feels closed or knees feel crowded.
